Game
Description:
Aim of the Game
To reach the top of the wall first, by being the first player to
create a series of climbing ropes from the bottom to the top of the
wall, while preventing your opponent from getting there first.
Before Playing
-
Connect the two
gray containers to the wall and place it between the 2 players.
-
Each player
chooses a color, yellow or blue, and takes all the climbers of that
color.
-
The players
take the climbing ropes to their chosen colors. Each player
receives 13 ropes of one color.
-
Each player
places his/her climbing ropes in one of the containers next to the
wall.
How to Play
-
Decide on the
order of play.
-
The first
player takes a climbing rope of his/her color and inserts it into
one of the grooves in the wall.
-
The other
player takes a climbing rope of his/her color and inserts it into
the groove of his/her choice. The players alternate turns, and
continue inserting the climbing ropes. Remember: The aim of
the game is to form a series of climbing ropes from the bottom to
the top of the wall, in order to "Breakout".
-
As the wall
becomes filled with climbing ropes, a player may sometimes push a
climbing rope previously situated on the wall, when inserting a rope
into the groove. This may dismantle a series being built by
the opponent or by the same player. If a rope falls off the
wall, it is returned to its owner for re-use.
-
If a player
runs out of rope pieces, he/she must wait a turn's) until one of the
rope pieces of his/her color falls.
-
When the wall
is full of rope pieces, a player may not copy the opponent's move.
For example: If one player inserts a climbing rope into the third
groove, from the left side, the opponent may not insert a climbing
rope into that same groove from the right side. He/she must
choose a different move.
-
Upon filling
the entire wall with rope pieces, on of the players must win within
5 game turns, or the game is considered a draw or tied game and
neither player wins.
-
The Winner in
the First Round: The player that creates a series of rope pieces
from the bottom to the top of the wall. This player clips a
climbing figure of his/her color to the top of the wall, and the
second round beings. All the rope pieces are removed from the
well and returned to the containers. The players begin again,
but the climbing figure remains on the wall.
-
The Winner of
the Game: The player who places the largest number of climbing
figures on the wall in 5 game rounds. A player who places 3
climbing figures of his/her color on the wall wins the game.
