Coin Hopping Games LLC was founded in 2005 for the express purpose of making more purposeful our family pastime of playing games. Games have always been one of the best ways, second only to food, of gathering our family around a table. One day on vacation in The Bahamas we sat down in restaurant on the beach and ordered a wonderful meal of cracked conch, broiled red snapper and peas and rice. While we waited for the food we decided we would create a game out of the materials available in a restaurant. The paper placemat with a map of The Bahamas provided the inspiration for the game board. Salt, pepper, toothpicks and sugar substitutes became the pawns! Since there were no dice or spinners at hand we had to invent rules of play to control how a pawn could move around the board. Eventually we realized we could use the beautiful Bahamian coins in our pockets as stepping stones. The concept of Coin Hopping was born.
