Flip to Win Wooden Game
Description:
Hangman can be played with two or more players. Before the game
begins, select one player (Player A) to run the game. Player A flips all
of the letter tiles so that they are face-up, and all of the hangman
tiles so that the graphics are faced down. Player A then thinks of a
word or phrase and draws lines on the whiteboard representing the
positions of each letter in the word or phrase. For example, if the
chosen phrase is "Happy Birthday" the player writes: " _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _" on the whiteboard.
The remaining player (s) take turns guessing a letter of the alphabet.
Player A flips each letter tile over once it is called, indicating that
it has been guessed. If the letter appears in the word or phrase, Player
A fills in the letter where it appears. For example, in the previous
example, if the first letter guessed is H, Player A inserts two H's on
the corresponding lines:
H_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ H _ _ _
If the letter does not appear in the word or phrase, one of the hangman
tiles is flipped over. If a player guesses a correct letter, he or she
is able to continue guessing letters until failing to make a match.
At any point during a player's turn, the player may guess the word or
phrase. If the player is incorrect, he or she is disqualified and the
game continues. Player A wins if the other players are all disqualified,
or if all of the hangman tiles are flipped over before the word or
phrase is correctly guessed.
To make the game more challenging, start with some of the hangman
graphics tiles flipped over, or flip two hangman tiles over for each
incorrect letter guess.
