About The Artist
Kayomi Harai
As a child full of imagination, Kayomi began drawing and painting in
her native Japan. She knew at an early age that one day she would be an
artist. Kayomi majored in English Literature while attending college in
Japan, but her spare time was filled with developing her artist skills.
She has illustrated for magazines, book covers, posters, and has even
done mechanical illustrations for construction clients.
Bet her true love was painting animals, particularly cats of al types -
from huge jungle cats, to domestic kittens.
Kayomi works in acrylics, watercolors and colored pencils. Her technique
is one of delicate, transparent colors wherein her subjects become
animal portraits - capturing the distinct personality traits of the
animals themselves.
