HOW TO PLAY -
BASEBALL FRENZY TRIVIA
- GAME
RULES
OBJECT OF THE GAME:
Baseball Frenzy is an exciting trivia challenge game that tests your
knowledge of the sport and teaches you the rules, situations, strategy,
terminology and the history of baseball. The object of the game is
to score the most runs within 9 complete innings.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
Team Play - Baseball Frenzy may be played with 2 players or 2 teams.
The teams can have as many members as you choose. When playing
teams, only the person spinning the spinner will answer the question.
The spinner should be moved in a clockwise direction after each
question, simulating a batting order.
Mix up the Baseball Frenzy trivia cards
and Baseball Challenge question cards separately and place one set in
one side of the card box and one on the other end. This box should
be placed in the outfield of the game board, where everyone can reach
it.
Choose a scorekeeper to keep score of the
game for both teams. This can be any member of either team, as
long as he/she is trusted by all!
Decide who goes first. The "home
team" takes the red players, and the "visiting team" takes the blue
players.
PLAYING THE GAME:
The visiting team is up at bat first. The blue visiting teams
batting figure is placed in the batter's box and a blue player spins the
spinner.
A member of the red team, the defense, now
takes out the first Baseball Frenzy card from the card box.
-
If a single or double
was spun, he reads the first question to the blue player.
-
If a triple
or homerun was spun,
he reads the second question to the blue player.
If the blue player answers the question
correctly, the batter takes the appropriate base. For instance, if
a double was spun, a blue running playing figure is placed on second
base.
If the blue player does not answer
correctly, it is an out.
-
If a Walk is spun, you can
place a runner on first base without having to answer a question.
-
If an Out is spun, you have
made an out, even without attempting to answer a question.
Players on the blue team continue to spin
the spinner and answer questions until they have made 3 outs. The
score keeper keeps track of all hits, runs and outs on the scorepad.
When the blue team has made 3 outs, the
red team is up and the blue team is the defense.
USING THE BASEBALL CHALLENGE QUESTIONS:
Challenge questions can be used by the offensive team only.
The offensive team can only use 2
Challenge questions per inning.
After answer a Baseball Frenzy question
correctly, the offensive team can choose to the challenge the defense.
If a single or double was spun on the spinner for the Baseball Frenzy
question, the first question is also chosen from the Baseball Challenge
card. The offensive player who just correctly answered the Frenzy
question takes the first Challenge question out of the other side of the
card box and reads the question to a defensive player. If the
defensive player answers correctly, then the runner remains on the base
it is on and the game continues without any change.
If the defensive player cannot correctly
answer the question, then the offense is allowed to move the runner.
A single turns into a double, a double turns into a triple, a triple
turns into a homerun.
SCORING PAD:
Use the scoring pad to keep track of the runs scored with lines and
then write the total runs scored each inning in the small square.
Each time an out occurs fill in a circle. Each team gets 3 outs an
inning.
