How To Play
COOL CA$H BINGO - GAME RULES
About This Game:
Three Levels of
play make this game fun and challenging for all ages.
-
Do you know your
coins? Play Level 1 to match the coins on the spinner to the coins
on your bingo card and build coin recognition skills.
-
Have fun shopping!
Use your addition skills in Level 1. Add up the coins on the
spinner to buy items on your card, which sell for the corresponding
price.
-
Calculate the
amount of change due from a purchase. In Level 3, use a counting
back strategy or subtraction to determine the amount of change due.
Object:
To be the first to
cover three change tiles in a row with coins.
Set Up:
Place bingo cards
with the yellow sides face up. Place all the coins in a center
pile. Use the spinner with the solid green outer ring and yellow
inner circle ( only coins are pictured).
Playing the
Game:
Players may fill
their free center space with a plastic quarter. The youngest
player begins by spinning the arrow and naming the two coins shown in
both the yellow and green circles. All players check their cards
for matching coins. Using the matching plastic coins, players may
cover two coins on their cards - one for each of the coins called out.
A player can cover no more than two coins per spin. If a player
has more than one space with the same coin on his/her card, only one
space may be covered for each coin that is called out.
The spinner is then
passed to the next player on the left. Players continue taking
turns spinning and calling out coins. The first player to
completely cover three spaces in a row, in any direction, calls
out "Cool Cash!" and wins!
LEVEL 2 SHOPPING
FRENZY GAME
For 2 - 4 Players
Players learn to recognize and count various coin combinations to make
purchasing decisions.
Object:
To be the first to
cover, or "buy," three items in a row with coins.
Set Up:
Place bingo cards
with the white sides face up. Place all the coins in a center
pile. Use the spinner with the solid green outer ring and yellow
inner circle (only coins are pictured).
Playing the
Game:
Players may fill
their free center space with a plastic quarter. The youngest
player begins by spinning the arrow and determining the amount of money
shown by adding the inside coin with the outside coin (Example:
Dime + Penny = 11¢). All players check their cards for an item
that sells for that price. If a player has one, he/she
"buys" it by covering it with any coins totaling the same amount.
If a player has more than one item of that price on his/her card, only
one item may be purchased per spin.
The spinner is then
passed to the next player on the left. Players continue taking
turns spinning and calling out prices. The first player to buy
three items in a row, in any direction, calls out "Cool Cash!" and wins!
LEVEL 3 POCKET
CHANGE GAME
For 2 - 4 Players
Players learn to calculate and count back change while making a
purchase.
Object:
To be the first to
cover three change tiles in a row with coins.
Set Up:
Place all bingo
cards with the yellow sides face up. Place all the coins in a
center pile. Use the 2-tiered spinner with the white outer ring.
(both coins and items to purchase are pictured).
Playing the
Game:
Players may fill
their free center square with a plastic quarter. The youngest
player begins by spinning the arrow and determining the amount of
"pocket money" shown by adding the inside coin with the coin in the
middle row (Example: dime + nickel = 15¢). This player then
subtracts the cost of the item that the arrow is pointing to in order to
determine the change due (Example: 15¢ "in pocket" - 7¢ "popcorn" = 8¢
"change"). Any player with the same change value on his/her card
may cover the space with any coins totaling the same amount. If a
player has more than one space with the same change value on his/her
card, only one space may be covered per spin.
