Game of Knowledge™
Game Instructions
There are many
games that test players on what they know and what they
don't know. Game
of Knowledge is the first game that tests players
exclusively on what
they know. The game features more than 1,500
questions based on
knowledge - not on obscure facts dredged up from
memory - but on
information drawn from, or relevant to, everyday life.
As you play the
game, listen carefully. The questions are worded so
that, even if you
are unfamiliar with the topic, you can draw on your
knowledge base to
answer them. So listen for clues, and use your
knowledge!

RULES OF PLAY
1. To Start: The
youngest player rolls the die and moves the number of
spaces shown (see
#4 for the only exception to this rule). Play passes
clockwise. After
rolling, players should not pick up the die; they get to
move the same
number again if they answer a question correctly.
2. Entry Spaces:
On each player's first turn, they must move their playing
pieces out of
Start through a solid-colored entry space (indicated by arrows).
The
entry space counts as one space.
3. Answering
Questions: When a player lands on a space with a colored
dot, that
player answers a question from that category at his age level
(questions
for 10-15 year olds are at the top of each card, questions for ages
16
and up are at the bottom). If the player gives the correct answer, s/he
moves (again) the number of spaces shown on the die. Her/his turn is
over.
If the player answers incorrect- ly, his turn is over.
When a player
lands on a plain yellow space, s/he does not answer a
question. His turn
is over.A player may only answer one question per turn.
4. Reaching a
Knowledge Base (the triangular spaces): A player may move
less than the
number rolled to stop on a Knowledge Base. If a player starts
on a
Knowledge Base, the player does not roll, but answers a question for
that topic to try to collect a ring.
5. Collecting
Rings: A player who answers a question correctly while on a
Knowledge
Base collects a ring of the same color as the Knowledge Base
and slips
it onto his playing piece. A player may only collect one ring of each
color.
6. Sliding: After
answering a question on a Knowledge Base
(either correctly or
incorrectly), players slide their playing pieces down the
chute to the
space directly below the Knowledge Base.
7. Answering
Questions Incorrectly: When a player ("Player 1") answers
a question
incorrectly, the player with the least number of rings (the "Bonus
Contender") has a chance to answer the same question. If the Bonus
Contender answers the question correctly: while Player 1 is
on a colored dot
or an entry space, the Bonus Contender moves the number
of spaces that
Player 1 would have moved had he answered correctly (the
number that
Player 1 rolled).
while Player 1 is
on a Knowledge Base, the Bonus Contender collects a ring
for that topic
(but does not move her/his piece; Player 1 still slides down the
chute).
If two or more
players are tied with the least number of rings, there is no
Bonus
Contender.
8. Winning the
Game: When a player collects his 6th ring
(one for each topic), s/he
slides down the chute to an entry space. The
player must correctly
answer a question for this entry space to win the game.
If the player
answers incorrectly, s/he must stay on that entry space, wait
for the
next turn, and try again.
Note: For storage,
turn the cards on their sides in the tray.
