HOW TO PLAY - SCOOP'S SURPRISES - GAME
RULES
Object Of The Game:
Find the most
flavors hidden in the surprise ice creams.
Preparation Of The
Game:
Put three identical
flavors in each ice cream cone
(all the strawberries in one, all the
chocolates in another, etc...)
Before starting a
new game you need to decide whether the game will be played with 3 cones
(beginner) or 4 cones (advanced).
You also need to
decide how many switches per round will be allowed to mix the ice cream
cones: minimum 3 for the easiest level and up to 8 for the highest level
of difficulty.
Example: the basic
game is played with 3 ice creams (beginner level) and 3 switches
(easiest level).
Definition Of A
Switch:
When mixing cones,
players have to do a succession of switches.
A switch is made by
taking one cone in each hand and exchanging their places without lifting
them.
Hands need to let
go of the two cones between each switch.
Playing the Game:
Players take turns
being SCOOP the Ice Cream Man.
At the beginning of each round, SCOOP show all the other players the
different ice cream flavors hidden in each cone by lifting up all the
cones.
Then, SCOOP mixes the cones according to the rules established at
the beginning between players.
Example: in the
basic game, Scoop would mix the three ice cream cones by making 3
switches.
Once all the
switches are done, scoop asks the player to his left to select the one
ice cream where he thinks the flavor is hidden:
-
If this player
succeeds in finding the right flavor, he takes one of the flavors and
becomes SCOOP for the next round.
-
If this player does
not find the right flavor, he takes one of the flavors and becomes SCOOP
for the next round.
-
If this player does
not find the right flavor, the player on his left gives his answer and
so on until the flavor is found.
The player who has
given the correct answer becomes SCOOP for the next round.
When a player gives
a wrong answer, he gives back an ice cream flavor previously won (if
available). This flavor is put back in the corresponding ice cream
cone at the end of the round.
A player can decide
to pass his turn if he is not sure of his answer and does not want to
risk losing any of his flavors.
Note: A cone
emptied of its flavors is used in the switches until the end of the
game.
Ending of the Game:
When all the ice
cream flavors have been found, the player with the most flavors wins the
game.
