Shopping Spree - Money Game - International Playthings, Inc.

Availability: Usually ships within 24 hours

Game #1 - Beginner's Version

Object of the game:
To be the first player to buy 4 items.

Before you begin:
There are 4 "items" cards for each store on the board.
Separate these 24 cards into 6 piles, by matching the colored outlines.
You'll note that the name of the store is also written on the back of each item.
Place each of these piles in their appropriate store on the game board, which
has the same matching outline. Each player claims a shopping basket.
One player, or game leader, who will act as banker, passes out 8 .50 cent
pieces and 2 $1.00 bills to each player.

This means that each player starts with $6.00

The remaining money id left in the box, next to the banker.

Playing the game:
The youngest player begins by rolling the die and moving his/her shopping
basket the number of spaces rolled. the space marked "Park" is where you
start, and should count as the first space in your move. You can travel in
either direction, but can move in only one direction per turn.

On your turn, if you land in a store, you can make a purchase! You'll notice
that some things in the store cost .50 cents, while others might cost $1.00.
Decide which you will buy, pay the banker the appropriate money, and place
the item in your basket. The turn now passes to the next player.

- You are allowed to buy only 1 item per store. If you land in a store you've
already purchased from, you lose your turn.

- When you land in a store, try to save your money by purchasing an item that costs .50 cents, instead of one that costs $1.00. (This is why it is important to be one of the first in the store!)

- Don't forget, if you want to buy something that costs $1.00, and you have no bills left, you can pay for the item with 2 - .50 cent pieces (0.50 + 0.50 = $1.00)

- After you've completed your shopping, you will need to return to the "Park" space and pay .50 cents for parking. Plan your shopping wisely, so you'll have this money left.

- If you land on "Park" wile you are still shopping, you don't have to pay. You simply lose your turn.

Special Spaces:
- Broken Shopping Basket! -- If you land on one of these spaces, you must pay the bank .50 cents.

- Pocket Money! If you land on one of these spaces, you earn .50 cents! The banker pays you.

- Move to any Space: If you land on this space, your are quite lucky. You can move your basket to any other space on the board. Perhaps you will move it to a certain store where you will buy an item you need, or to a Pocket Money space, so you can earn more money!

Landing on an opponent's space:
Two players at a time can occupy a space. If, on your turn, you roll the die and find you will land on a space where there are already 2 players, you move on additional space, so you are on the space next to them.

Winning the game:
Whoever is the first to purchase 4 items, return to the space marked "Park" and pay .50 cents for parking, wins the game!

Game #2 -  A more Advanced Version

Object of the game:
To be the first to buy 6 items, one from each store.

Playing the game:
The game is played as above, except players need to buy an item from every store without running out of money.
All other rules are as Game #1 except:

Landing on the Broken Basket Space:
If you land on one of these spaces, you must return one of your purchases to the store. Choose which one you will return and put the card back in the appropriate store. You don't get your money back, AND you'll have to return to this store again to make another purchase. If you don't have anything in your basket, and land on this space, you simply await your next turn.

Winning the game:
Whoever is first to purchase 6 items, one from each store, return to the space marked "Park" and pay .50 cents for parking is the winner!

Game #3 - The Ultimate Challenge!

Object of the game:
To be the first to buy 6 items, on from each store.

Playing the game:
The game is played a d Game #2, above, except:

Landing on an opponent's space:
If, on your turn, you roll the die and can move to a space that is occupied by another player, you may be able to take an item out of his/her basket and put it in your own. You can only do this if this player has an item from a store that you have not yet been to. For example, you land on a space occupied by an opponent who has 3 items in his basket, on red, one blue and one green. You already have items that are red and blue. You can take his green one. When you land on an opponent's space, you also send him back to "Park" even if you cannot take any of his purchases. He does not have to pay for parking, but must begin his next turn from that space.

Winning the game:
Whoever is first to purchase 6 items, on per store, return to the place marked "Park" and pay .50 cents for parking is the winner!
