Order To Sign It!

SIGN IT! RULES

1.  Roll the die.  The highest roller is the "Reference Book Person"

2.  Roll the die again to determine the order of play.

3.  All players start in the "Start" square and move along the path by rolling the die.  After moving the number of squares on the die, the player will pick up the card on top of the pile and sign the word corresponding to the color of the square they have landed on.  The cord is then placed on the bottom of the pile.

If the player signs the word correctly, the player may proceed on their next turn by rolling the die.  If the sign is not correct, the player must stay where they are until their next turn and choose another card.

4.  When a player lands on a plain square with an arrow, follow the arrow to the square to which it is pointing and choose a card.

If the arrow puts the player ahead, the word must be signed correctly to stay there.  If the sign is not correct, return to the other end of the arrow and wait for your next turn to roll the die.

5.  To end the game.

The first player to roll the exact number needed to land on the "Sign It!"  square, must correctly sign the word chosen from the top card by the player across the board.

If the word is signed incorrectly, the player will roll the die and move backwards the number of squares on the die - then try again on the next turn.

These rules are suggestions.  If you are just starting to learn sign language you may finger spell the answers by looking at the finger alphabet signs on the board.

You might want to keep a list of the new signs you encountered in each game and words you signed incorrectly.  Use the reference book to practice them.

It would be a good idea to try the self test in each section of the reference book.
