Game Description:

Aims of the Game:

  1. To be the first to move all four of your playing pieces from your
home base to the base situated diagonally across the board.

  2. To prevent your opponent from reaching his/her base.

Instructions:

  1. Each player chooses four playing pieces of the same color and places them on the base of that color, which becomes the player's "home base".  The players' goal is to reach the base on the opposite side of the board (diagonally) with all four playing pieces.  Blue pieces must reach the green base, green pieces must reach the blue base, orange pieces must reach the yellow base and yellow pieces must reach the orange base.

  2. The youngest participant is first and the play continues in a clockwise direction.  The first player tosses the dice and moves one of his/her pieces according the color and shape on the dice.  Each turn is comprised of two jumps, one according to color and one according to shape.  In both cases, once the player decides in which direction to move, the playing piece must move to the closest color and then the closest shape or visa versa.  A player must always execute both humps, as indicated by the dice.  Only one piece can be moved with each roll of the dice.

  3. The playing piece may only be moved forwards or sideways in the following fashion:
    a) The piece can jump forward, then sideways.
    b) The piece can jump sideways, then forwards.
    c) The piece can perform both jumps in one direction, a straight line either forwards or sideways.
    d) The piece can move backwards on the second jump in order to "bump" the piece of an opponent.  When a piece is bumped, it returns to its home base.  The only time a player is allowed to move a piece backwards is when it is the second jump of the turn and bumps an opponent's piece.

  4. For example, the dice are rolled and show the color orange and a triangle.  The player may jump first to a triangle of any color and then to any orange shape or first to any orange shape and then to a triangle of any color.  Remember, the piece must jump to the closest shape or color in the direction it is being moved.

  5. If a player rolls the dice and the color die shows black, that player executes the jumps and receives and additional turn.

  6. Bumping: If a player's piece lands on a space occupied by an opponent's piece after executing both jumps, the opponent's piece is "bumped" back to his/her home base.  A piece may only bump an opponent's piece on the second jump.

  7. A player may occupy a space with up to 4 of /her own playing pieces.  Be careful, if your opponent lands on a space occupied by you playing pieces, all the pieces on that space are returned to the home base.

  8. A piece can not be moved in opposite directions during a turn.  If the player wants to remain in a certain row for both jumps, the piece must be moved in a continual line.  If a piece is moved forward, it can not backtrack, even to bump an opponent's piece.

  9. Entering the opponent's base: In order to enter the opponent's base, the dice have to show either a square or the color of that base.  For example, the green pieces can enter the blue base by rolling either a square or blue.  A player may execute either both jumps or one jump of the move in order to enter the base.  If on jump puts the piece into the base, the other jump is not executed at all.  This is the only time a piece is permitted to execute only one jump instead of two.

  10. If at any time during the game, a player throws the dice and can not move any of his/her pieces according to the rules, that player forfeits the turn and the next player rolls the dice.
    * The first player to reach the opponent's base with all four playing pieces is the winner!
