Game Description:

Majestic One develops fraction concepts using pattern blocks!

• Majestic One utilizes the powerful visual and manipulative impact of pattern blocks to build understanding of key fraction concepts and relationships.  Based on solid learning theory plus extensive classroom experience, Majestic One utilizes sight, manipulation, communication, listening and evaluation to impact learning.

• Majestic One includes a hexagonal pattern block set expanded to contain fourths and twelfths in addition to the standard halves, thirds, and sixths.  This more than doubles the number of proper fractions which can be represented and includes 90% of the most commonly used fractions.
  Players claim fractional pattern blocks as they travel around the board and score by trading them for 'ones'.  The first player to build six 'ones' wins the game.

• By constantly identifying fractional parts, players build strong mental images of their relative sizes, equivalents, and sums of 'one' in various combinations.  At Level 1, players become familiar with halves, thirds, fourths, and sixths.  Level 2 adds twelfths.  Fourths, sixths, and twelfths serve as common denominators.
