Making Change Quizmo Game
Description:
OBJECTIVES:
By playing Making Change Quizmo students will:
Reinforce coin counting
Learn to identify equivalent monetary values
practice making change
strengthen listening and mental math skills
DIRECTIONS FOR PLAY:
1. Determine which of the 4 levels is to be played.
2. Distribute a Game Board to each player.
3. Have players make sure their Game Boards are on the correct side for
player: A, B, C, D.
4. Distribute plastic markers.
5. Allow players to review their Game Board.
6. Caller announces winning pattern for the game:
A. Four in a row (any direction)
B. Four straight down
C. Four corners
D. Caller's choice - Caller can make up the pattern for
winning
7. Caller verifies that h/she has 35 Calling Cards all facing the
correct by (by color). Deck is shuffled and Caller reads the problems.
If correct answer appears on Game Board, player places a marker on it.
Note: Correct answers will not appear on all Game Boards.
Game continues until one player forms the winning pattern and calls
out,"Quizmo!"
8. The other players should leave their cards intact until the winner is
confirmed.
EXTENDED ACTIVITIES:
1. Set up two teams and the team that answers the most questions
correctly wins.
2. Create one's own Calling Cards for more problem solving
opportunities.
