Game Description:

The challenge continues - The same rules and strategies apply as in the original Math Magic™ but the challenge continues with Square Values, Cubes, Square Roots, Cube Roots and Joker Tiles.

What the Colors Mean:

  1. Red connects with Red
    Divide (÷) for the score
    Numbers must be wholly divisible.  Decimals and fractions not accepted.
     

  2. Green connects with Green
    Multiply (x) for the score
     

  3. Blue connects with Blue
    Subtract (-) for the score
    Negative score not accepted
     

  4. Yellow connects with Yellow
    Add (+) for the score
     

  5. Green x² connects with Green
    Calculate the square value of connecting number
     

  6. Olive x³ connects with Olive/Green only
    Calculate the cube value of connecting number
    Note: The 2-color segment (Olive & Green) can also connect with any Green tile for multiplication
     

  7. Red connects with Red (square root)
    Calculate the square root of connecting number
     

  8. Red connects with Red (cube root)
    Calculate the cube root of connecting number
     

  9. Joker Tile (8 segments)
    Tiles can be connected provided 1 segment of the Joke tile matches color of connecting tile.

Basic Moves of the Game:

  1. Single-Sided Combination

  2. Two-Sided Combination

  3. Three-Sided Combination

  4. Four-Sided Combination
    Note: there four sides on each tile

Moves Not Allowed:

  1. Tiles with numbers sideways or upside down are not allowed.

  2. When making 2, 3 or 4-Sided Combinations, colors on sides joining tiles on the board MUST always match.

  3. Combinations where lower numbers are placed above or to the left of higher numbers are not allowed.

Important Rules:

  1. All tiles are mixed in pouch provided.

  2. Each player draws one tile.  The player with the highest number on his tile starts first.

  3. Each player then draws 5 more tiles (total 6 tiles per player).

  4. The first player selects 2 tiles which have matching colors and places the tiles anywhere on the board.  Depending on the color combination, the player calculates his score and records score on the score sheet.

  5. Player 1 then draws 2 tiles from pouch to replace the tiles played.

  6. Player 2 then joins 1 tile to the 2 pieces played, making sure the colors match and the numbers are in the same reading direction.  Tiles joined with numbers sideways or upside down are not allowed. 

  7. Play continues with each player placing 1 tile per move until all tiles are used up.

  8. The player with the highest score is declared the winner.

Note:

  1. Each player should plan his move to ensure that he can score the highest possible point for each move.

  2. Players can join the tiles for a single-sided, 2-sided, 3-sided, or 4-sided combination.  A Bonus of 100 points (in addition to the total score achieved by the move made) is given ONLY to 4-sided combinations.

  3. A bonus of ONLY 50 points (in addition) is given to a 4-sided combination if one or more Joker tiles are used to create the 4-sided combination.
