Become A Chemist And Grow, Mix, and Measure!
Bacteria
and Fungi (Kit 10) - Weight and Volume (Kit 11) - Acids and Bases (Kit
12)
Young Scientists of all ages will
be fascinated
by growing bacteria and fungi of all colors in Petri
dishes.
Discover how antibiotics can cure disease. Young scientists make and
calibrate a scale,
learn about density, and test all kinds of substances with pH and litmus
paper.

The Young
Scientists Series Set 4
Description:
GROW, MEASURE, AND MIX! Young Scientist of
all ages will be fascinated by growing bacteria and fungi of all colors
in Petri dishes. Discover how antibiotics can cure disease. Young
Scientist make and calibrate a scale, learn about density, and test all
kinds of substances with pH and litmus paper. Finish this set with some
real copper plating!
Kit 10 -
Bacteria and Fungi
Young Scientist of all ages will be
fascinated by growing bacteria and fungi of all colors in Petri dishes.
They will discover how antibiotics cure disease and finish the kit by
"waking" a common fungus called yeast.
Kit 11 - Weight and
Volume
Learn about weight by making and
calibrating a spring scale. Young Scientist then learn about volume
using a metric-calibrated graduated cylinder. The concepts of weight and
volume are combined to explore density by making a peppercorn
"magically" float.
Kit 12 - Acids and Bases
Young Scientist learn about acids and
bases by testing various substances with pH and litmus paper. In
addition, the effects of acids on various household items are explored.
This kit finishes with real copper plating. A great introduction to
chemistry.
Contents:
agar, petri dishes, antibiotic ointment, cotton swabs, plastic bag,
yeast packages, graduated cylinder, test tube, cleaning brush, one-gram
cubes, paperclips, elastic string, plastic dish, index card, modeling
clay, small piece of plastic, nails, a peppercorn, pH paper, blue litmus
paper, red litmus paper, dropper, powdered lemonade, and adult
