the strategy card game.
Triology plays like Rummy, but that's where the similarity ends, and a
new level of fun and challenge begins. Instead of melding books of three
queens, for instance, or runs of, say, the 4, 5, and 6 of diamonds, a
player gets points by making SETS and laying them on the table.
A SET consists of three cards on which every feature is either the same
on all three cards. The features are: symbol - diamond, squiggle, or
oval: number of symbols - 1, 2, or 3; color - green, purple, or red; and
shading - solid, striped, or open.
Once a player puts down a SET for points, it can be stolen by any player
who can break up the SET and make two or three new SETS from it and his
or her own cards. By stealing your opponents' points, you can quickly
change your fortunes from losing to winning.
Your strategy plays a vital part in winning. While cards you put down
count for you, they can be stolen. Those held in your hand can be used
to steal other players' points, but will count against you if someone
"goes out". Your SETS made with the special TRIOLOGY™ cards are worth
the most and will require the most careful strategy.
Of course, luck plays its part. Drawing a "HANDS OFF" card, or just
getting the right card from the deck or the discard pile can swing the
game your way. Hours of fun await you, your family and friends.
