What Are We Made Of? - Our Vital Organs!

All our body parts are made of millions and millions of tiny living bite called cells. The food and oxygen mix in the cells to give us energy. Each cell is about TWO THIRDS water, so each of us is make mostly of WATER!
 
TUNEFUL VOICE:
When we breathe in, we take oxygen into our body. When we breathe out, the air passes over some stretchy. If there is enough air, these muscles vibrate just like the string of a violin when it is played. The sound it makes can be tuned into words. We do this by shaping our mouth.
 
LUNGS:
Lungs transfer oxygen from our breath into the blood stream.
 
LIVER:
the liver has several jobs. One of these is to make a green liquid called bile which acts rather like a detergent, breaking down the fats that we eat. Other functions are to remove poisons from the blood, and store glycogen. (This is a substance formed when you eat too many carbohydrates).
 
RED ARTERIES:
Blood full of oxygen is pumped around the body through the arteries.
 
What Is Blood?
Blood is used to carry food and oxygen to all parts of the body.
It has lots of bite in it! 
Red Blood Cells:
These pick up the oxygen as they pass through your lungs.
White Blood Cells:
These destroy germs and help you fight off illnesses.
Platelets and Plasma:
Platelets stop you bleeding by plugging up any wounds. The plasma is a watery liquid that carries the cells and food.
 
LONG JOURNEY!
Your food travels from your stomach on a long journey through the small intestines to be slowly broken down and absorbed into the blood stream. The intestine is folded neatly into a small area, but is really as long as a bus!
A meal takes about three days to pass right through you!
