Description:
Builds understanding of words from their context in sentences and
their association with synonyms and antonyms.
Enrich vocabulary by playing the new Word Pond games! Each game
introduces a total of 192 words spanning three grade levels. Three sets
of color-coded sentence cards - Synonyms A, Synonyms B, and Antonyms -
provide contexts for inferring the meaning of unfamiliar words. The
unique design of the game board helps players focus on a small number of
words at a time. Tailor the game to players' needs by choosing the
grade-specific lily pads in play,
Each set of color-coded sentence cards - Synonyms A, Synonyms B, or
Antonyms - matches 48 words on the game board.
Clusters of lily pads are keyed to various grade levels so the game can
be tailored to players' needs. Play two, five, or all of the clusters.
Players move along paths and jump from cluster to cluster to land on the
synonym (or antonym) matching a card in hand. They can then claim the
card. The player who collects the most cards is the winner.
Two assessment masters help measure growing vocabulary and develop
test-taking skills.
