Large Geometric Shapes, Set of 10
by Learning Resources
Grades Kindergarten - 12th
Large Geometric Shapes, this big, bright set of 10 shapes invites students to explore geometry. This set includes ten 3-dimensional geometric shapes. The shapes are sphere, hemisphere, cone, cylinder, cube, rectangular prism, hexagonal prism, triangular prism, square pyramid, and triangular pyramid.
Shapes have a common three-inch dimension to illustrate relationships between area, volume, shape, form and size.
Plastic shapes include: • Cone • Sphere • Hemisphere • Cube • Cylinder • Rectangular prism • Hexagonal prism • Triangular prism • Square pyramid • Triangular pyramid
Suggested Activities for Large Geometric Shapes, Set of 10:
• Sort the shapes by various characteristics. For example, shapes with only fl at surfaces, curved surfaces, shapes that roll, etc. • Name or list objects around the room that are similar to the shapes. • Sort the shapes using the following terms: number or types of faces, number of vertices and edges, prisms, pyramids, and type or shape of base. • Compare similarities and differences between the shapes. • Measure the various dimensions of the shapes.
Shapes measure 3”H.
